What’s stopping you from moving forward?

For most of us, it’s not a lack of ability, but three familiar obstacles: resistance (excuses and justifications), distraction (false priorities that pull us away), and victimhood (the mindset that life is unfair and out of our control). These barriers might feel powerful, but they’re not permanent—you can learn how to move past them.

How to Move Forward is a course designed to help high school students confront procrastination head-on and replace it with action. Instead of letting fear, avoidance, or excuses take over, you’ll learn how to:

  • Spot the three root causes of procrastination and connect them to your own experiences.
  • Break through resistance by focusing on the single most important next step.
  • Defeat distraction by asking, “What is valuable?” and reframing assignments as opportunities for discipline and growth.
  • Replace victimhood with gratitude, discovering how even small wins can build resilience and forward momentum.
  • Use a Procrastination Tracker to uncover your patterns, then design an action plan that includes strategies like time-blocking, accountability partners, or breaking tasks into smaller steps.

Through journaling, reflection, and real-life challenges, you’ll build a toolkit of strategies to help you overcome excuses, focus your energy, and stay consistent when it matters most. By the end of this course, you’ll know how to recognize what’s really holding you back—and exactly what to do to move forward.

💡 Instead of asking, “Why can’t I get this done?” you’ll learn to ask, “What’s my next step forward?”
